First Aid and CPR Course Descriptions:


CPR/Workplace CPR
These courses provide various levels of CPR training based on the background, needs and interest of the individual or group. Participants will also learn how (and be certified) to use an Automated External Defibrillation.  All participants will receive the Canadian Red Cross CPR/AED Manual and Certification card.  Certification is valid for 3 years.

  • CPR Level A: How to recognize and respond to cardiovascular emergencies and choking for people aged 8 and over; Geared toward the workplace and general public
    • Adult CPR - one rescuer
    • Adult choking
    • Barrier device/pocket masks
    • AED where legislation permits
  • CPR Level C: How to recognize and respond to cardiovascular emergencies and choking in Adults, Children, and Babies; Geared toward families, parents, general public, and child care professionals;includes two-rescuer Adult child CPR; intended for professional rescuers, (i.e. Police, Firefighters, First Responders, Workplace First Aid Teams, and Lifeguards);
    • Adult/Child/Baby CPR - one rescuer
    • Adult/Child/Baby choking
    • Barrier device/pocket masks
    • AED where legislation permits
    • Rescue Breathing
    • Adult/Child – 2-rescuer CPR

 

Workplace Emergency First Aid & CPR
Canadian Red Cross Workplace Emergency First Aid & CPR Course

This course includes First Aid & CPR Guidelines 2011, is recognized by the Workplace Safety & Insurance Board (WSIB) and meets Ontario Health & Safety (OHS) regulations for Basic First Aid.   All participants will receive the Canadian Red Cross First Aid & CPR Manual and Certification card.  Certification is valid for 3 years.

A hands on, interactive course teaching Simple First Aid & CPR techniques , for individuals who want an overview of First Aid & CPR for the workplace or home. Learn how to recognize, prevent and respond to cardiovascular emergencies for Adults, choking, airway and breathing emergencies, and prevention of disease transmission.  This course can be taught along with CPR Level A or CPR Level C.  Participants will also learn how (and be certified) to use an Automated External Defibrillation. 

Who should attend

Any employee can attend this course. No prerequisite or pre-course assignment is required.

Workplace Standard First Aid & CPR
Canadian Red Cross Workplace Standard First Aid & CPR Course

This course includes First Aid & CPR Guidelines 2011, is recognized by the Workplace Safety & Insurance Board (WSIB) and meets Ontario Health & Safety (OHS) regulations for Basic First Aid.   All participants will receive the Canadian Red Cross First Aid & CPR Manual and Certification card.  Certification is valid for 3 years.

A Comprehensive First Aid & CPR course for designed for those who need training specifically for work requirements, or who want more knowledge to respond to emergencies in the workplace or home. The course covers basic topics such as cardiovascular and breathing emergencies, prevention of disease transmission as well as advanced topics, such as sudden medical conditions and injuries to the head and spine.  This course can be taught along with CPR Level A or CPR Level C.  Participants will also learn how (and be certified) to use an Automated External Defibrillation.
